Biometric / Face Match Notice

Face Match is 1:1 identity verification. When enabled, RelilQ compares a fresh attendance selfie with an approved reference photo for the same employee to help confirm who is clocking in on a shared phone or terminal.

Face Match does not currently perform liveness detection. It compares images; it does not prove by itself that a living person is standing at the device beyond that comparison.

• an approved reference staff photo;
• a derived biometric representation (embedding) of that reference, stored encrypted;
• a fresh selfie used at verification time, processed server-side and designed to be ephemeral (candidate embeddings are not kept as ongoing profiles); and
• verification outcome metadata for authorised audit (employees are not shown similarity scores).

Purpose: reduce buddy-punching and confirm identity on shared attendance devices. Face Match does not directly change Reliability Score, Engagement Score, Retention Risk, or Workforce Health Score.

Only authorised business users can enrol or replace a reference photo. RelilQ shows a confirmation notice and requires acknowledgement before enrolment. The employer remains responsible for telling staff and obtaining any legally required permission.

Reference Face Match data remains until an authorised user turns it off / revokes it or replaces the photo. Revocation deletes the encrypted reference embedding associated with that enrolment in RelilQ’s design.

Owners, managers, and supervisors (and RelilQ super-admins where applicable) may access Face Match verification records according to RelilQ permissions. Similarity details are intended for owner/manager audit, not employee dashboards.

Reference embeddings are encrypted at rest. Face inference runs server-to-server. No security measure is perfect. Face Match is not a guarantee against all fraud.
